KAITLYN WRIGHT

President, Website, Event Planning Committee, National IOWA Club Committee

Kaitlyn was born and raised in Des Moines, the capital city of Iowa. She attended Cornell College, a small private college about 20 minutes from Iowa City. During her years at Cornell she became a die-hard Hawkeye fan, often working security at the home football games that allowed her to fund-raise for her sorority while cheering on the boys in black and gold amidst the Kinnick Student section. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in education she moved back to Des Moines, but never missed an opportunity to return to Iowa City to tailgate and cheer on the Hawks.

In 2013 she moved to Phoenix for many of the same reasons everyone moves from the Midwest... to get away from the snow. It was a bonus there weren't acres of grass to mow every two weeks in the summer, and having been a lifeguard/pool supervisor/swim coach she preferred the desert heat over any humidity.

She found her calling in the animal welfare industry and worked five years at the largest spay and neuter clinic in Arizona, followed by  positions in varying organizations where she makes an impact on the furry family  members in our community.

When she's not working or being a watch site leader during the Hawkeye football season you can find Kaitlyn spending time on the lake, nerding out (like working on this website), camping or finding as many live music shows and concerts to attend.

SHELLY MYERS (MICHELLE)

Board Memeber, Event Planning Committee, Graphics Guru

Proud to say I was born and raised in Iowa City and a graduate of West High! After graduating from the University of Iowa in 1995, I moved to Kansas City, Missouri. I have an undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Iowa and two Master's degrees. My first Master's degree is in Special Education from University of Missouri-Kansas City and my second Master's degree is in Transition Education and Services from the University of Kansas. In the summer of 2016, my husband and I left the humidity (and snow) of the Midwest and moved to Arizona. Currently, I am a Realtor with HomeSmart. When I'm not cheering for the Hawkeyes, I serve as a Board member with the Junior League of Phoenix Foundation, Chair of the Digital Communications and Merchandising for the Junior League of Phoenix, President of the Junior League of Phoenix Toastmasters and as an animal support volunteer for the Arizona Humane Society. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our dogs, Steve, Rocky and Bea. We are avid hikers, motorcycle riders and golfers.

NATE STUART

Board Member, Big 10 Golf Classic Representative

Nathan “Nate” Stuart is originally from Brooklyn, Iowa. In 2004, he received his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Iowa’s Henry B. Tippie School of Business. Shortly after graduation, Nate moved to Arizona. For the next eight years, he worked in the staffing industry, helping grow a relatively small, privately-held staffing firm into a large firm operating in international markets.

In 2012, Nate left the staffing industry to attend law school and pursue a legal career. He attended law school at the University of Iowa College of Law, where his grandfather (W.C. “Bill” Stuart) received his law degree in 1942. Bill was an avid Hawkeye fan and a roommate of Nike Kinnick. In 1987, Bill took Nate to his first Iowa game, a 17-17 tie with Michigan, and Nate has been a diehard Iowa fan ever since.

In 2014, Nate returned to Arizona to attend Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor Law School as a visiting student. In December, 2014, he received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Iowa.  In 2015, Nate sat for and passed the Arizona Bar. Since receiving his law license in 2015, he has handled a variety of legal matters with a focus on complex litigation. Nate is an Associate Attorney with Righi Fitch Law Group, where his practice focuses on cannabis law, commercial litigation, construction law, and insurance defense.

When Nate’s not working or watching the Hawks, he is usually completing various home improvement projects around the house.
